Several people injured in separate shootings in Cleveland, police investigating

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating several shootings that happened across the city Saturday morning.

A 40-year-old man was shot in the arm in the 14000 block of Detroit Avenue around 1 a.m., according to Cleveland police.

At around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of East 116th Street and Union Avenue for a 25-year-old female that had been shot in the chest. She was taken to University Hospitals, police said. Her condition is unknown.

Another shooting happened at a gas station near Lee Road and Harvard Avenue, police said. A 33-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and thigh and a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg. Both victims were taken by car to SouthPointe Hospital, police said.

Authorities are also investigating a shooting and fire at a home on the city’s West Side. One person is believed to have been shot in the head prior to a fire on West 95th Street, according to the Cleveland Fire Department. Nine others were transported in stable condition.
