A local woman feels herself lucky to be alive today.
"She has a long road of recovery but considering how she got hit, considering the shape she was in just last Tuesday, I'm grateful for the fact that she will be able to recover, she will be able to be independent again," said Tiffany Salay.
Her mother, 61-year-old Jean Stuckey, is in fair condition at Metro Health after she was hit and dragged nearly 50 feet by a white cargo-style van on Cleveland's west side last week. The driver of that car is still on the run.
Meanwhile, Stuckey says she wishes the suspect would have just come back to help.
"I just wish he would have stopped,” she said, "or if he didn't have insurance or whatever, I can understand, but still, you people gotta follow the law."
The suspect car was described by a witness as a white, cargo style van – possibly a Ford – driven by a white man who was somewhere between 45-50 years old.
