Cleveland police respond to crash involving Amtrak train and car on city's East Side

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police responded to a crash involving an Amtrak train and a vehicle on the city's East Side Friday morning.

A spokesperson for Amtrak confirmed to News 5 Train 49 struck a vehicle that was on the tracks at around 3:11 a.m. near East 99th Street.

Amtrak headed westbound into the city near E99th and Elk struck a vehicle on Friday.

The train was delayed for approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes before continuing on while police responded to the scene.
