East Cleveland police investigating 2 separate homicides that happened Tuesday and Wednesday

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — East Cleveland police are investigating two fatal shootings that happened Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, one at the Windermere Rapid Station, and the other several blocks nearby.

The first shooting happened Tuesday around 8:18 p.m. at the Windermere Rapid Station in the 14000 block of Euclid Avenue.

Police responded to the location for a report of a man shot. When officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old man with a gunshot wound, authorities said.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Another man, who was on scene when officers arrived, was taken into custody, authorities said. The man’s name and potential charges have not been released.

The second shooting happened Wednesday morning around 9:02 a.m. in the 1800 block of Rosalind Avenue

Officers responded to the location after receiving a report of a man shot. When officers arrived, they found a 46-year-old man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

A 56-year-old man, who police said is a suspect in the second shooting, was also found to have a gunshot wound to his foot. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and then taken into police custody.

That man’s name and charges also have not been released.
