A 47-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into a branch of the Akron-Summit County Public Library, according to the Akron Police Department.

Officers responded Friday just before 6:30 a.m. to a break-in at Firestone Park Branch Library located at 1486 Aster Avenue.

Officers located a 47-year-old man inside who attempted to flee when he saw officers. He was placed in custody after resisting arrest, say police.

The man received minor injuries to his face and head prior to his arrest, police said.

He was charged with breaking and entering, criminal damaging, vandalism and resisting arrest.
