BEDFORD, Ohio — A beloved K-9, who has been with Bedford police since 2015, died unexpectedly last week, according to the department’s Facebook page.
Mike, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois, died Feb. 11. Mike was selected as Bedford’s new K-9 in August 2015. After training and certification, Mike and his handler hit the streets in October 2015.
According to Bedford police, Mike took part in many arrests and helped officers save a life during a call.
Mike “was a great dog and will be missed by all of us,” authorities said.
