ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — New video released by Rocky River police shows just how devastating a massive fire this past weekend was that caused a new condominium project to go up in flames.

What once was a condo under construction is now a pile of rubble and debris.

The fire happened Sunday and was so large it was caught on weather radar. The smoke plume could be seen from miles away.

Rocky River Fire Chief Aaron Lenart said it was the largest fire he had seen in his entire career. While exact amounts aren’t known, the blaze likely caused millions of dollars in damage.

Crews from the surrounding communities were called in to help douse the flames and provide support.

All that remains of the structure are two stairwell towers and an elevator shaft. The rest of the wooden building burned to ash.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, but said it doesn't appear to involve criminal activity.
