SEVEN HILLS, Ohio — A family and their dog made it out of their home safely Thursday morning when a fire broke out.

It happened in the 200 block of East Clearview Avenue in Seven Hills around 4 a.m. Crews were able to quickly knock down the flames before the house was fully engulfed.

While the structure remains intact, it's not known home much damage the fire and smoke caused.

According to firefighters, the family's dog had to be taken to a nearby veterinary hospital but is expected to be OK.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but authorities say it may have started in the kitchen.
