ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — News 5 Meteorologist Trent Magill went out on the Rocky River with aquatic biologist Mike Durkalec, who has been fishing these waters for more than 16 years.

Durkalec works for the Cleveland Metroparks and writes the official fishing report for their website.

He gave us a few tips on how to successfully fish in the Rocky River.

  • Fly location is key.
  • Fish feed near the bottom.
  • Make sure not to get your hooks too low, otherwise you can get snagged on some rocks.
  • Practice is always availble.

The Rocky River Reservation frequently hosts fly fishing seminars frequently, so there's always a chance to learn!
