LakewoodAlive hosting holiday mini-parade, virtual lighting ceremony Saturday

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Starting Saturday, LakewoodAlive will host multiple events for the holiday season including a mini-parade and a virtual lighting ceremony.

Saturday's events kicks off a series of daily events that run from Saturday to Dec. 20. Saturday's lighting event will be streamed on LakewoodAlive's Instagram and Facebook pages.

The first event — the mini-parade, is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. It will feature Santa, the Grinch and Buddy the Elf.

The second event, which is the lighting ceremony, is at 7 p.m. Santa, the Grinch, Buddy the Elf and Mayor Meghan George will flip the switch to light up the city.

”Light Up Lakewood is such a fun celebration of the season and we wanted to do our best to keep the celebration alive, in a safe way,” said LakewoodAlive Executive Director Ian Andrews. “We are thrilled to bring you nine days of videos featuring some of our favorite traditions of the event and hope it brings the community together during this uncertain time.”
