BRECKSVILLE, Ohio — The National Park Service has reopened most the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park after flash flooding closed off trails and nearby roads last weekend.

The trail between Canal Exploration Center in Valley View and Botzum Trailhead in Cuyahoga Falls has reopened. The section between Canal Exploration Center and Lock 39 on Rockside Road remains closed because of flood damage.

Restrooms along the towpath trail remain closed until further notice. Portajohns will likely be put in place by Friday, April 3.

With temperatures in the 60s this upcoming weekend, popular sites in the park like Brandywine Falls, the Ledges and Blue Hen Falls are expected to be more crowded than usual.

The park asks visitors to find other areas that are not as popular or congested with visitors.
