Wickliffe police released incredible dash cam footage of a chase involving a suspect who tried to rob a Mentor firearm store on Monday before fleeing the parking lot and leading Wickliffe and Willowick police on a chase in a stolen car.

Officers spotted the stolen Chevy Equinox on State Route 2 as it led law enforcement through Dead Man's Curve.

The stolen car is seen in the video skidding off the road and going back onto I-90. When the driver was going around Dead Man's Curve, police said he was going around 60 mph.

The driver then led police onto I-71 and then back on I-480 westbound towards North Ridgeville.

Wickliffe police said the driver was going around 100 mph for the majority of the chase. It's the longest pursuit they've had in years, according to police.

The suspect eventually evaded officers by driving into oncoming traffic, which caused him to drive off the freeway and through a wooded area and into a neighboring residential area.

The driver then crashed head-on with another driver on Roots Road in Columbia Township.

Authorities investigate the crash after the suspect hit a driver head-on in Columbia Township.
