The Cedar Point causeway reopened Tuesday morning after storm damage closed the road Sunday evening and all day Monday.

Crews were out Monday cleaning up after 70 mph winds snapped poles and took down utility wires and trees.

Those downed poles and wires trapped families in their cars for hours Sunday.

Mike Eck, a First Energy spokesperson, said it was the worst damage he'd seen in a long time.

"I can't recall when we last saw damage like this," Eck said.

The park will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Guests who had purchased tickets for Sunday, June 5 or Monday, June 6 can use their tickets on any other operating day during the 2016 season. They can also be used at Kings Island in Cincinnati and Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Mich.

Guests who want to refund their tickets can make a request here.
