The man charged in connection with the death of a Mentor police officer who was hit and killed during a traffic stop on State Route 2 was given a $1 million bond while appearing in Mentor Municipal Court on Monday.
Brian Anthony, 24, of Mentor, was given at $1 million bond, $500,000 for each count. He was bonded over to the Lake County Common Pleas Court and waived his preliminary hearing.

If he were to post bond, the conditions are as follows:
- GPS tracker
- No driving/consuming alcohol or drugs
- He is under house arrest
- Travel restrictions
- No contact with the victim's family
Anthony has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with evidence. His next court date has not yet been set.
