MEDINA, Ohio — Spring is so close you could taste it, and that means it's time to think about your next home and garden projects. You can explore your options from the comfort of your home this year as the Medina Home and Garden Show has decided to go virtual in 2021.

Promoter Linda Loveless said she had to make the call in late November when she would normally have to start ordering plant materials for an in-person show. With no vaccinations approved yet and the pandemic very much in full swing, she decided to move online.

"What was really important to me was to find [a platform] where customers could communicate with exhibitors and ask the questions that they always ask and get to know the exhibitors so I was able to find a platform and ask them tons of questions and I thought, well maybe this might work," she said.

Once you go through the free registration process, you'll get a link to the show. When you arrive there will be a video explaining how things work and welcoming you to the site. Then you just need to scroll down to browse all the booths. Each booth will have a pictures and video, a link to the exhibitor's website, and a virtual live chat feature that can accommodate up to five people at a time, so you can ask all the questions you need answered face to face with the experts.

Every registered attendee is also entered to win a $500 gift card for a vendor of their choosing.

The virtual Medina Home and Garden Show is happening Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
