MANSFIELD, Ohio — A 19-year-old woman died Tuesday in a car crash in Mansfield after she drove in front of a dump truck, according to police.
The crash happened around 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 13 (N. Main Street) and Piper Road.
Authorities say the woman was heading west on Piper Road in a 2020 Jeep Wrangler when her vehicle crossed in front of a 2006 Sterling commercial dump truck that was heading north on State Route 13. The truck struck the woman's car on its driver's side.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died, police said. Her name has not been released. The dump truck’s 59-year-old driver sustained minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Motorists are asked to avoid the area while crews work the scene.
