Former kitchen worker convicted of bringing drugs into Richland County Jail

RICHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — A former contracted kitchen worker at the Richland County Jail, who was convicted of bringing drugs into the jail, will serve prison time, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

Grace Markley was convicted of illegal conveyance of drugs, aggravated trafficking drugs and aggravated possession of drugs.

In July 2020, jail staff was notified that Markley was going to bring drugs into the jail. The sheriff's office was notified of her plans.

When she entered the jail on July 20, investigators searched Markley and found methamphetamines in her possession.

She was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
