BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 52-year-old man is dead after a crash that occurred on Interstate 77 in Stark County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said that around 11:28 a.m. Sunday, a 2011 Dodge Caliber was traveling at a high rate of speed on I-77 and while attempting to pass traffic on the left berm, the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The Dodge overturned and the 52-year-old driver, later identified as Patrick Havelock, of Canton, was ejected, troopers said.
Havelock was transported to Aultman Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries, according to troopers.
Troopers said Havelock was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and that the belt was buckled behind his body.
Drugs and alcohol are not expected to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, troopers said.
