Barberton man gets life in prison for fatally shooting father

BARBERTON, Ohio — A 22-year-old Barberton man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for killing his father last June.

According to the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, Shannon Ingol pleaded guilty to murdering 41-year-old Shannon Callahan.

After pleading guilty, Judge Alison Breaux immediately sentenced Ingol to life in prison with the possibility of parole after serving 16 years.

The murder happened on June 19, 2019, at the father's Barberton home.

When police arrived at the home, officers found Shannon Callahan lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
