TALLMADGE, Ohio — Tallmadge police seized nearly 130 pounds of marijuana and hundreds of containers of THC edibles after an investigation from a traffic stop in Illinois led police to a local storage facility last week.

Once at the storage facility, Tallmadge police K-9 Kato, a German shepherd, alerted his handler, Officer Corzine, to a suspicious storage unit.

Police then obtained a search warrant for the unit and after opening it, found a total of 128 pounds of marijuana and 508 containers of THC edibles.

Kato joined the department two years ago when he was six months old. When he’s not on duty finding drugs, he enjoys playing ball with his family, the department said.
