MANSFIELD, Ohio — UPDATE: The woman has been found.

Mansfield police are searching for a woman that they say went missing under unusual circumstances.

The 36-year-old was reported missing by her family Wednesday morning.

Authorities said she contacted family members at 4 a.m. and said she was headed home from somewhere on West 4th Street near the Rowland Avenue area.

When family had not heard from her by 9:15 a.m., they contacted police.

She does not have a vehicle and is believed to be on foot.

Authorities are looking into the possibility that she sent a text message to someone close to her stating that she was being held against her will.

Anyone with information on her location is asked to call Major Crimes Detective Ronne Swisher at 419-755-9432 or Detective Larry Schacherer at 419-755- 9766.
