SHELBY, Ohio — Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a missing woman who they say was taken by her ex-boyfriend.

Shelby police said Melinda Davis, 33, was reported missing on Thursday around 12:30 p.m.

According to police, she was driving a black 2013 Volkswagen Jetta with license plate number JGZ8921 to the 500 block of Cliffside Drive in Mansfield that morning and hasn't been heard from since.

She is 5-feet tall and weighs 145 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police said the Richland County Sheriff's Office checked the house where her ex-boyfriend John Henry Mack Jr., 43, lives and neither were there.

Mack has black hair and brown eyes.

Deputies obtained a search warrant of the home and a kidnapping arrest warrant has been issued for Mack. The U.S. Marshals Service has joined in search.

Anyone with information on either of their locations is asked to call the U.S. Marshal's tip line at 866-492-6833. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest.
