TOLEDO, Ohio — The search for 3-year-old Braylen Noble came to a tragic end Wednesday with authorities announcing that his body was found in a pool at an apartment complex in Toledo, according to the Toledo Blade.

The scene was taped off by police on Wednesday. An unmarked van pulled up to the scene around 2:30 p.m. and police later announced that the boy was located, the newspaper reported.

Braylen went missing from the 3400 block of Gibraltar Heights Drive in Toledo on Sept. 4. The newspaper reported that the child’s grandmother said he fell from a third-floor window and “disappeared” last week. She searched the area and then called 911 when she didn’t find him.

Authorities checked surrounding buildings, under vehicles, inside dumpsters and other areas Braylen may have wandered to no avail. Authorities also used drones to search a nearby creek.

According to the Toledo Blade, the pool had been searched multiple times over the past several days. Police returned to the pool Wednesday.

The matter remains under investigation.
