A coroner says an Ohio Wesleyan University soccer player whose body was found in a creek died of spinal injuries and exposure to the cold.
The body of 19-year-old Luke Gabbert was found Feb. 6 in Delaware Run Creek in Delaware, about 20 miles north of Columbus.
Delaware County Coroner Mark Hickman said Friday that Gabbert suffered blunt force injury to the "upper cervical spine" and hypothermia as the result of a fall into the creek.
A report by the coroner also says Gabbert's blood-alcohol level was 0.21, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 in Ohio.
Ohio Wesleyan University President Rock Jones has said there is no indication of foul play.
Gabbert was a freshman soccer player from Lewis Center between Columbus and Delaware.
