ATHENS, Ohio — Ohio University has closed hazing investigations involving three of its sororities.

A university spokesperson cited a lack of evidence to support the allegations against Chi Omega, Delta Zeta and Pi Beta Phi.

The sororities were among 16 student organizations named in hazing complaints since the beginning of this school year.

Ohio University said two fraternities, Theta Chi and Delta Tau Delta, accepted responsibility for their actions and received reprimands.

Other groups, including the university's marching band, men's rugby club and a number of social and business fraternities remain under investigation for hazing.

Ohio University says those groups are in various phases of the administrative investigation process.
