CLEVELAND — With gas stations deemed an essential business under Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s stay at home order, gas station employees have been put on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why Sheetz has decided to give its employees extra compensation.

Sheetz, the popular gas station chain, announced it has issued $3 per hour raises from March 13 until April 23 to support the employees putting themselves on the frontline of the pandemic and working tirelessly to support their communities.

“Our employees are the heart and soul of Sheetz and their commitment to serve our customers and communities as an essential business during this critical time has been nothing short of extraordinary,” Travis Sheetz, President & COO of Sheetz, Inc. said in a press release. “This special compensation is just one way to express our gratitude during this difficult time.”

Sheetz is also actively hiring employees amid a dwindling Ohio workforce due to the stay at home order.
