AVON, Ohio — All lanes on Interstate 90 between the Route 611 exit in Avon and the 254 exit in Sheffield Village have been reopened following a crash involving a tanker truck, according to the Avon Police Department.

The truck was hauling alcohol and the crash caused a leakage onto the roadway, according to police.

A hazardous materials team was called to the scene to assist, police said.

The driver of the truck was extricated from the cab and transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in stable condition, according to police.

Motorists were asked to divert to Detroit Road (254) to avoid the crash scene.

Four residences on Deerfield Drive in Avon have been evacuated as precautionary measure, police said.
