2 PM: Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine gives Thursday update on COVID-19

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine will give an update on the state's response to the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday, DeWine signed House Bill 606 during a videoconference ceremony.

HB 606 gives employers immunity at the state level from civil lawsuits for "injury death or loss to person or property" when caused by COVID-19, unless the exposure or transmission was caused by reckless conduct or intentional misconduct on the part of the person whom the lawsuit is brought against.

On Wednesday, the Ohio Department of Health reported 1,033 new COVID-19 cases and 49 new coronavirus-related deaths.
