WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Dozens of 6th-grade students at the Willoughby-Eastlake School of Innovation have been quarantined after a person tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Superintendent Steve Thompson, 75 6th-graders and three staff members were quarantined.
Parents were notified about the positive result through the district's call alert system.
School officials didn’t say if the person that tested positive was a staff member or student.
The district is conducting contact tracing to determine how the virus spread. The number of students and staff under quarantine protocol could change depending on the contact tracing results, Thompson said.
