COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,915 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 941,265.
The number of new cases today is lower than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 3,458. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 812,300 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 86% of total cases.
There were 203 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today.
There have now been 16,394 coronavirus-related deaths across the state; 48 new deaths were reported today, lower than the 21-day average of 268, which spiked after the state reconciled the data from thousands of unreported COVID-19 deaths near the end of 2020.
As of today, 862,328 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.
The median age of patients is 42 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 111 years old.
The ODH reported 79 new hospitalizations today, with six ICU admissions. There are currently 1,633 COVID-19 patients in Ohio's hospitals and 474 COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
Non-COVID patients are currently occupying 59.90% of the state's hospital beds, according to ODH. COVID-positive patients account for 6.01%, leaving 34.09% of beds currently available. COVID patients make up 10.06% of the state's ICU beds, non-COVID patients are occupying 58.08% of ICU beds, and 31.86% of ICU beds are currently open.
There were 27,757 tests done on Feb. 13, the latest day this data from the ODH was available. Of those tests, 5.2% were positive, compared to the rolling 7-day average positivity rate, which is 5.5%. Click here for details on where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.
To date, the COVID-19 vaccine has been started in 1,307,563 people in Ohio, which is 11.19% of the state's population. The vaccine has been started in 24,210 people in the last 24 hours.
The COVID-19 vaccination has been completed in a total of 481,339 people, which is 4.12% of the state's population. In the last 24 hours, the vaccine has been completed in 11,368 people.
