Kent State University collecting greeting cards for residents at local eldercare facility

KENT, Ohio — Since nursing homes and elderly care facilities can’t have visitors because of the coronavirus, Kent State University started a greeting card drive to collect letters of hope and joy to brighten the days of those living in eldercare facilities.

The university is asking for homemade or store-bought greeting cards to hand out to local residents at these facilities.

The cards can have follow several themes such as thinking of you, have a great day, encouragement or friendship.

Kent State is asking anyone who writes a card to following these guidelines:

  • Do not include any candy, gum, and other food items
  • Avoid perfume or other fragrances on cards
  • Send only one card per envelope

Greeting cards should be sent by Friday, April 24 to the following address:
