BROOKLYN, Ohio — As amusement parks begin to reopen across the state, one local favorite among children won’t be open this summer.
On Wednesday, the Memphis Kiddie Park, 10340 Memphis Avenue, announced it made the difficult decision to stay closed for the remainder of the year due to the coronavirus.
Since 1952, the park has offered children of all ages a fun atmosphere to enjoy 10 amusement rides, a mini-golf course and a concession stand. This year, that fun has been put on hold.
“We've come to the difficult conclusion that we aren't able to offer our guests the unique experience for which Memphis Kiddie Park is known. Our park will remain closed this summer, but we can’t wait to welcome everyone back next year -- and for many years to come,” the park said in a statement.
The park said anything with a 2020 expiration date, such as coupons and birthday gifts, will be extended through all of next season.
