COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted will provide an update to the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic Monday afternoon.

Monday’s briefing is an unexpected one, as DeWine said at the end of Thursday’s briefing that the next briefing was scheduled for Tuesday, unless “we have some breaking news or other things before Tuesday.”

Ohio recently topped 50,000 COVID-19 cases as the state’s daily cases have spiked over the last several days. As of Sunday, there had been a total of 50,309 cases in the state with 2,807 COVID-19 related deaths reported to date.
