Ohio reports 4,706 new COVID-19 cases, seven new coronavirus-related deaths

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 4,706 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 254,974.

The number of new cases today is higher than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 3,398. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 241,095 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 95% of total cases.

There were 494 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today, just a few less than the record-high 504 cases reported Sunday. Cleveland reported 100 new cases, bringing their total to 7,026.

There have now been 5,524 coronavirus-related deaths across the state; seven new deaths were reported today, lower than the 21-day average of 21.

The ODH reported 154 new hospitalizations today, with 34 ICU admissions.

"What we are seeing now as cases surge is an increasing demand on our staff, and every county in the state is feeling the brunt of rising COVID-19 hospitalizations," Gov. Mike DeWine said during a press conference on Monday.

As of today, 186,254 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.

There were 46,817 tests done on Nov. 7, the latest day this data from the ODH was available. Of those tests, 10.1% were positive, compared to the rolling 7-day average positivity rate, which is 9.4%. Click here for details on where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.

The median age of patients is 41 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 109 years old.
