BEDFORD, Ohio — A pedestrian was struck and killed while trying to cross I-271 NB in Bedford on Saturday, according to police.
It’s not clear what prompted the pedestrian to attempt to cross a busy highway.
Authorities said two northbound lanes will be blocked while crews work the scene.
The pedestrian’s name has not been released.
This is the second fatality in two days in Northeast Ohio involving a person walking across a highway.
Friday afternoon, a 12-year-old boy was struck by a car on Interstate 90 in Cleveland. The boy was transported to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.
