MEDINA, Ohio — Medina City Schools announced a pause on all extracurricular activities that meet in person and any sport competitions and performances at the middle and high school levels in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

On Dec. 3, Medina was one of five Northeast Ohio counties that were increased to Level 4 on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System’s color-coded map.

This includes any activities with other schools or groups until the district reevaluates the situation on Dec. 17.

Athletic and extra-curricular practices will continue at the middle and high school level under the COVID-19 protocols implemented at the beginning of the school year.

Medina High School athletics said any activity that can continue virtually is expected to do so.
