COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff is holding a news conference Wednesday at 1 p.m., one day after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine held a news conference imploring parents and school district leaders to take steps to vaccinate and mask students as they return to school in the fall.

Vanderhoff was joined by Dr. Michael Forbes, a Pediatric Intensive Care Specialist at Akron Children’s Hospital and Dr.Craig Dues, the Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mercer Health to discuss the spread of delta variant in Ohio, the importance of vaccination, and the recent announcements by White House officials that a third booster shot is recommended for immunocompromised individuals, and for all eligible people eight months after their initial vaccination.
