COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted will give an update on the state's response to the coronavirus pandemic Thursday afternoon.

DeWine's news conference comes a day after GOP supermajorities mobilized to override his veto on a bill that would allow lawmakers to strike down public health orders.
Senate Bill 22 will go into effect three months from now. DeWine has expressed hope that Ohio’s health orders such as the mask mandate will already be removed by then, with COVID-19 cases on the decline and vaccines now eligible for the entire adult population.
