BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Scorchers in Bedford Heights has been cited by the Ohio Investigative Unit for violating orders aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus.

According to authorities, agents visited the bar around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday and cited the establishment for improper conduct—disorderly activity after observing around 100 customers congregating.

"Patrons occupied consecutive seats at the bar, while additional patrons stood behind to order. Others were permitted to stand while consuming alcohol. Agents observed little to no social distancing measures or physical barriers in place," the OIU stated.

The case will be sent to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission for review. Possible penalties include fines and/or the suspension or revocation of the bar's liquor permit.
