CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo announced Thursday that it plans to reopen on June 17.
The zoo has been closed since March 16 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“After nearly three months, we can’t wait to reopen Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to our community,” said Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Executive Director Chris Kuhar, Ph.D. “As we work diligently to reopen, safety will continue to be our number one priority to protect our employees, guests and all of the animals in our care.”
The zoo said it will follow guidelines and best practices from the Ohio Department of Health as well as the Centers for Disease Control. Zoo officials said they will provide an update regarding specifics sometime prior to the zoo reopening later this month.
Zoo memberships will also be reactivated on June 17. If you had a membership that was valid during the zoo’s closure, the time will be extended. More information regarding memberships can be found, here.
Cruise the Zoo is set to end on June 14. Tickets for the event are still available for a limited time. You can purchase tickets, here.
