CLEVELAND — A second person has been charged in connection with the 2019 death of a 6-year-old girl who was shot while inside her home on Cleveland’s East Side.

According to Cleveland Municipal Court records, Angel Marie Cannon, 22, of University Heights, is charged with aggravated murder, a first-degree felony.

A warrant has been issued for their arrest.

Court records state that on Oct. 5, 2019, Cannon drove at least two armed people to a home in the 1300 block of East 171st Street. Once there, the occupants opened fire on the home, resulting in the death of 6-year-old Lyric Lawson.

Lyric was shot in the head. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

In November 2019, authorities arrested Raysean Howard for the shooting. Court records state that Howard allegedly fired at the home multiple times, striking the structure and the girl inside.

Howard is scheduled to appear at the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas on April 22 for a final pretrial hearing.
