Over 150 cats were seized from a Lake County animal shelter after suffering from untreated medical conditions.
The Lake County Humane Society received a complaint about the condition of the cats at Caroline's Kids Pet Shelter in Concord Township, and after an initial inspection of the facility, they were granted a search warrant that was carried out on Monday, November 28.
According to the Humane Society, the team found over 260 cats living at the shelter with untreated medical conditions, with majority of the sick cats not in quarantine - allowing healthy cats to get sick. At the time of the search, they seized 157 cats from the shelter.
The Lake County Humane Society is still currently investigating the shelter and is asking for donations to help take care of the sick cats. For more information go to their website.
