According to new data from the Ohio Department of Health, Cuyahoga County had the single largest increase in COVID-19 cases across the state over the last 24 hours.
The 150 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County on Friday is not only the largest increase in the state from yesterday, but it’s also the largest number of new daily cases the county has seen since the pandemic began.
Cuyahoga County has the second-highest number of cases in Ohio at 3,156, second only to Franklin, which has 4,330 cases.
Cuyahoga County also has the second-highest number of deaths in the state at 162. Only Lucas county has a higher number of deaths at 204.
Just yesterday, Cuyahoga County only had 27 new cases of COVID-19, its lowest amount since April 19, as we are now seeing the ebbs and flows predicted by state health officials.

Overall, the state reported 597 new cases and 47 deaths, both of which are just above the state's 21-day average.
Health officials have said that the number of cases reported each day will continue to rise as more testing becomes available.
