Ohio below the 21-day average of new COVID-19 cases, deaths, hospitalizations, ICU admissions

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 932 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 93,963. The state was below the 21-day average in four of the daily metrics used to track the disease's impact: cases, deaths, hospitalizations and ICU admissions.

The number of new cases today is lower than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 1,291. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 88,997 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 94% of total cases.

There were 103 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today.

Cleveland reported 24 new coronavirus cases, bringing their total to 4,312.

There have now been 3,539 coronavirus-related deaths across the state, an increase of 10 over the previous day, lower than the 21-day average of 23.

The ODH reported 92 new hospitalizations today, with 10 ICU admissions.

As of today, 69,501 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.

There were 17,928 tests done on Aug. 1, the latest day this data from the ODH was available. Of those tests, 5.4% were positive, compared to the rolling 7-day average positivity rate, which is 5.6%. Click here for details on where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.

The median age of patients is 42 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 109 years old.
