Ohio reports 1,438 new COVID-19 cases, no new coronavirus-related deaths

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,438 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 83,184.

The number of new cases today is higher than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 1,286. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 78,735 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 95% of total cases.

No new deaths were reported in the state Saturday, keeping the number of coronavirus-related deaths in Ohio at 3,297. The 21-day average of coronavirus-related deaths is 19.

There were 180 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today.

The ODH reported 73 new hospitalizations today, with 18 ICU admissions.

As of today, 57,731 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.

There were 25,683 tests done on July 23, the latest day this data from the ODH was available. Of those tests, 6.8% were positive, compared to the rolling 7-day average positivity rate, which is 6.3%. Click here for details on where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.

The median age of patients is 42 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 109 years old.
