Ohio surpasses 400,000 COVID-19 cases as state reports 6,895 new cases, 32 new coronavirus-related deaths

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio has surpassed 400,000 total COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic after the state released Saturday's numbers. Saturday's data is incomplete as the unprecedented volume of results has caused thousands of reports to remain under review.

The Ohio Department of Health reported 6,895 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 406,703.

The number of new cases today is lower than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 7,666. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 384,544 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 95% of total cases.

There were 522 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today.

There have now been 6,378 coronavirus-related deaths across the state; 32 new deaths were reported today, lower than the 21-day average of 42.

The ODH reported 302 new hospitalizations today, with 37 ICU admissions, both higher than their 21-day averages of 279 and 29, respectively.

As of today, 261,353 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.

There were 46,024 tests done on Nov. 26, the latest day this data from the ODH was available. Of those tests, 15.5% were positive, compared to the rolling 7-day average positivity rate, which is 14%. Click here for details on where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.

The median age of patients is 42 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 109 years old.
