If it seems like speeds are up on Ohio's freeways during the COVID-19 pandemic, it's with good reason, according to new research from Ohio State's Center for Urban and Regional Analysis. The study found the average level of speeding has increased in Ohio's three largest cities, and levels of so-called "extreme speeding" have jumped dramatically. More here.

The Ohio Department of Health released new data Wednesday that shows the number of COVID-19 cases in the state has risen by 607 since yesterday, bringing to end a six-day span of gradually declining new cases. More here.

High school graduation is looking different this year for seniors in Northeast Ohio due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the Warrensville Heights School District is getting creative with the celebration, which includes a drive-thru watch party and individual ceremonies. More here.

Ohio leaders on Monday announced plans to quickly scale up coronavirus testing as the state allows a phased reopening of businesses. But even though a draft White House report predicts that the U.S. daily deaths from the disease will rise dramatically during the reopening, the Ohio plan offers few details for workers and employers who want to be tested to ensure they’re safe. Take the New York metropolitan area’s progress against the coronavirus out of the equation and the numbers show the rest of the U.S. is moving in the wrong direction, with the known infection rate rising even as states move to lift their lockdowns, an Associated Press analysis found Tuesday.
